GR 40 is simple single conversion Super Heterodyne Receiver. A 4-section XTAL ladder filter at 12MHz IF is used to select the band width. The receiver consists for two single side PCB assemblies namely GR 40 Rx. Main Board and VFO.

    I brought this Receiver and I am happy with it. It has a nice audio and sensitivity. It is a must for any SWL. Only drawback is that the VFO tends to drift and there is no frequency display so you don't know which frequency you are listening. To solve this problem you have to make a DDS VFO circuit which has a stable VFO and a frequency display. I request the supplier to make this changes and sell so that this items becomes a best receiver in the market. I also want the supplier to make this receiver for 20M band if not I will buy one more and convert it to 20M band.

    This is my first HF Rx, bought it in June this year. I am in Dhaka, Bangladesh and with a dipole antenna I have received transmissions from Tamil Nadu, MP, AP, Nepal, China and lots of other places on the first day!

    VU2DEV is a nice person and I am very satisfied with their service. A frequency display would have been a nice addition. A lot of 73's :)
