From Bangalore. Mr. Ramapabhu, G.M of Micronova Impex Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore was one of the Chief Guest. Prof. Selvam and Principal Ramesh Kumar of Asiatic Institute of Research and Development Center received Mr. Ramaprabhu with a warn welcome. This workshop was conducted for 3 days.


Scientist Ramaprabhu explains that HAM Radio is the basics for many wireless technologies. He also explains that, when the orbiting satellites fails, the moon can be used as a reflector or repeater for wireless communication.This technology is called Opera.


Sri Charu Hassan (National Award Winning Actor) was also present and gave a talk. He expressed his experience before coming to film industry, how he was interested in electronics and is a hobbyist. Producer Suryanarayana Raja, K.S.R. Bus Company General Manager Nagarajan, Janaki Ram Auto Mobiles Managing Director Kumaraswany Raja, Micronova Impex Pvt. Ltd. Engineer Sudhindraraja were also present and gave brief seminars.  Mr. Murali from Asiatic Institute Research and Development Center ended the event.

Using the computer to listen to radio without internet, this technology was designed and implemented by Scientist Ramaprabhu and the name of the technology is Indian Software Defined Radio. Asiatic Institute Research and Development Center started this workshop yesterday. Virdunagar, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli district Polytechnic students participated and assembled the kits.


Scientist Ramaprabhu explains that the existing cellphone technology was already used by HAM Radio long time ago. For most of the wireless technologies present HAM Radio is the foundation. Visit to Shankara Vidyalaya School, Kolar

We visited Shankara Vidyalaya School in Kolar, to give an awareness and demonstration of the Guides Rally 40 meter receiver models for the school children. We presented the Box model and the Examination Board model to the children. The school children were so surprised and excited to see the Examination Board model.


We also demonstrated how to setup an antenna for reception and gave them a idea as  to how to construct a simple antenna. Later on we moved on to explain the different kinds of components that are used in the GR-40 and brief explanation how it functions. Almost 5 batches of students each consisting of 10 students came forward to get to know the components. Meantime, the GR-40  Models were powered up, connected the antenna and we asked the students to have a hands on experience of the receiver. The students were so thrilled. ISDR workshop at SJR Degree College on 4th January 2012

ISDR Workshop was held at SJR Degree College on 4th January 2012 , Wednesday between 9am to 6pm . The workshop was organized by  Prof. M. N. Basavaraju,   Department of Electronics of SJR Degree College, Bangalore-560009.

The following colleges attended the workshop and seminar:

  • RBANMs Degree College, 
  • SJR PU College, 
  • Vidyamandir PU College, 
  • Malleshwaram, 
  • HKE Degree College, 
  • KLE Degree College, 
  • Sri Venkateshwara Engineering College, 
  • Kammavari Sangha Institute of Technology(KSIT), Kanakapura. 

The workshop was guided by OM Ramaprabhu,VU2DEV, Abinav, Sudhindra Raja, Shashank, Mallayya and Vishwas, of Micronova Impex PVT. Ltd., Research and Development, 89/2, gandhibazar main road, Basavanagudi, Bangalore-560004. 

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. J.T.Devaraju, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics Science, Jnanabharathi Campus, Bangalore. Sri Gangadhar, Associate Professor of M.S.Ramaiah Engineering College explained the synopsis of 3 projects on Verilog.Professor Manjunath.P.S. HOD of Jain University, Prof.Chandra, HOD of Electronics, RBANMs Degree College and Prof.Malatesh S Akkur , Department of electronics, Jain University also participated in the ISDR Workshop.

Professor M.N.Basavaraju,  HOD of Electronics, SJR Degree College, the  participants of the ISDR Workshop express sincere thanks to the guiding team. The project is very useful for learning Ham Radio activities as well as a project in Electronics for B.Sc. Semester VI.

Workshop at SRI JAGADGURU RENUKACHARYA COLLEGE


A workshop for B.Sc  VI semester Electronics projects was held at SJR Degree College on 28th December 2011, Prof.Rama Prabhu, VU2DEV inaugurated the workshop.

Sudhindraraja, Abinav, Shashank, Mallayya and Vishwas and Mr. Parthasarathy were present  in the workshop as resource persons. The participants from the following colleges were present:
Jain College, 
VV puram College, 
MES College, 
Indian Academy College, 
Indo Asian Academy College, 
SJR College, 
Vivekananda College.


By the end of the second day, 29th December 2011 all the 5 College teams: SJRC, MES, Jain, Vivekananda and VV Puram Colleges successfully assembled and tested the performance on their individual antennas. All are totally satisfied by their performance and the efficient guidance of the entire team of resource persons.


The Head of the Department of Electronics  of SJRC, Prof.M.N.Basavaraj congratulated the teams of 5 Degree Colleges and the guiding team.
